Estherville – Mrs. Robert Knight, 83, Estherville, died Friday [September 29, 1978] morning at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville. Services for Mrs. Knight will be 10 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, Estherville, with interment in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home all day Sunday and until 9 a.m. Monday when the body will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 29, 1978)

Estherville – Services for Irma Farquhar Knight, 83, Estherville, were held Monday morning at the Presbyterian Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Harvey Throop officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville.

Mrs. Knight died Friday, Sept. 29, at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville. Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, was in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Farquhar, she was born May 27, 1895, at Audubon. She graduated from Winterset High School and from Grunnell [Grinnell] College with a BA degree. She taught school in Graettinger for two years and Estherville for one year.

She was married to Robert S. Knight at Winterset on June 21, 1922. The couple made their home in Estherville, where her husband was associated with the Emmet County State Bank until his retirement.

Mrs. Knight was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Estherville, American Legion Auxiliary, President of the Social Order of Beauceant, Regent of the Daughter of the American Revolution, Ruling Elder of the First Presbyterian Church, and was twice circle leader of the Presbyterian Women. She was also secretary of Spiritual Life Organization, organized the Presbyterian Westminiser Guild, held a life membership on the Board of National Missions, was chaplain of PEO, a member of the Fort Dodge Presbyterial Board for six years, member of Iowa Synotical Board for four years, member and secretary of Presbyterian Camp at Okoboji, a member of current local RISK Evangelism Committee, a 50-year member of Okamanpado Chapter of the DAR and was a charter member of the Emmet County Historical Society.

Mrs. Knight is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Mrs. James A. (Jean) Wiant, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Thomas G. (Margaret Lynn) Sletta, Prior Lake, Minn.; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Ray Fulls, Kinsley, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents.
