Ypsilanti, Mich. – Services for Mae Elizabeth Jackson, 98, of Ypsilanti and long time Estherville resident will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with the Rev. Tom Balm officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. She died Thursday, Sep. 8, 1988 at Evangelical Home in Saline, Mich.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Monday.

She was born Nov. 15, 1889 at Livingston, Ill., the daughter of William and Rosella (Wittenhauser) Eisenhower. She graduated from Estherville High School in 1909. On Feb. 24, 1917 she was united in marriage with Elmer Charles Jackson at Seney, Iowa. She lived most of her life in the Estherville area, where she taught school in Superior and Estherville. In 1977 she moved to Ypsilanti to live with her daughter.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville, associate member of the United Methodist Church in Ypsilanti, UMW, and PEO Sisterhood Chapter DL.

Survivors include two sons: Robert and wife Shirlee, Olathe, Kansas; Charles and wife Dolores, Tallahassee, Fla.; one daughter, Ruth Wescott, Ypsilanti, Mich.; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Mauck, Estherville and one sister-in-law, Helen Eisenhower, Estherville; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Nov. 28, 1949; parents; three sisters and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 10, 1988)
