Mrs. Charles Higgins Dies This Morning
Mrs. Charles Higgins, 72-year-old farm wife in the Estherville community, died of cancer 9 a.m. today at Holy Family hospital. She had been ailing for several months.

She was born July 28, 1877 in Odebolt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Guilford [Gulliford] , and received her education in Schaller where she graduated from high school.

She was married at Schaller Feb. 18, 1895 to Charles Higgins, and the couple farmed near Schaller before moving to Sibley in 1910. In 1920 they moved to Estherville where the Higgins farm is located. Mr. Higgins is still actively engaged in farming.

Mrs. Higgins was a life long member of the Methodist church, having been active in church work and in community affairs.

Survivors in addition to her husband are four sons, Evan, Fay and John, all of Estherville, and W.B. of Los Angeles, as well as 10 grandchildren.
