Armstrong – Services for Mrs. Ruth H. O’Neill, 86, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Armstrong, with Father Dale Koster officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Estherville. She died Thursday, Sept. 19, 1985 at Fairmont Community Hospital, Fairmont, Minn.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Armstrong, and the parish rosary will be prayed there at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

She was born May 5, 1899 at Auburn, Ill., to Martin and Ellen (Cook) Coady, and attended Estherville High School and Iowa Teachers College in Cedar Falls. On Oct. 8, 1927 she was united in marriage ith John Francis O’Neill, in Estherville. She taught at Gruver and Armstrong before her marriage. She lived all her married life in Armstrong where the O’Neill family has been in the banking business in Armstrong and Fenton for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Armstrong, and was a charter member of Wednesday Club in Armstrong.

Survivors include three sons, John F. O’Neill Jr., Burlington, James M. O’Neill, Armstrong and Jean T. O’Neill, Armstrong; 13 grandchildren and one great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband in Jan. 23, 1979, her parents, one son Jerold, and a sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 21, 1985)
