Illness Fatal to Henry Hageman, Gruver Farmer
Henry Hageman, 57, farmer, living near Gruver died Wed. morning at this home following an illness of several years. Since March, Mr. Hageman’s condition has become worse and he has been confined to his bed part of the time.Born Aug. 29, 1887, in Germany he came to the United States with his parents when he was still a small boy and spent most of his boyhood and young manhood in Warrington, Mo., moving to Storm Lake in 1905. He was married to Elizabeth Hintz at Storm Lake and came to Gruver in 1917.
Preceding him in death was an eight month old son, George, who died in 1918 during the flu epidemic.
Survivors include his widow, and three sons, Capt. Charles Hageman, who has been stationed in Nevada; Arthur who has been in the service and is now at home following a medical discharge, and Richard who is also at home; six brothers, Fred of St. Louis, Mo.; Herman and William, both of Estherville; Albert of Armstrong; John of Sherburn, Minn., and Walter who has been living in Sioux City but is now believed to be living in a western state and two sisters, Mrs. Otto Martin of Sherburn, Minn., and Mrs. Louis Krier.
