Final Rites on Monday for Griffith
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Fuhrman Funeral Home for Lee Griffith who died at 7:15 a.m. yesterday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.Rev. H. Allen Wirtz will officiate at the funeral. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Griffith’s death was attributed to complications following surgery.
He was born Dec. 13, 1889, at Ellswroth Ranch near Dows, the son of John and Elizabeth Griffith. He moved with his family to a farm north of Estherville when he was five years old. He received his education in Estherville schools and attended Estherville business college.
He was married in 1915 to Kate Sorgenfrei of Estherville.
During his life he farmed, did week spraying, and was an expert at dynamite blasting.
Mr. Griffith is survived by two daughters, Dorothy, and Mrs. June Brennand, both of New Berlin, Wis.; and a sister, Mrs. George Kirchner of Estherville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.
Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home any time on Sunday and until time of services Monday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 28, 1967)
