Estherville – Memorial services for W. Curtis Dunlavey, 58, Estherville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Chapel, Estherville, with the Rev. John Bowe of the Presbyterian Church officiating.

Cremation preceded the services, there will be no visitation and the family requests no flowers. Mr. Donlavey died Friday at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Knoxville.

The son of Roy and Vera (Connor) Dunlavey, he was born Nov. 18, 1922, at Jackson, Minn. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1940, from Estherville Junior College in 1951 and from the American Institute for Foreign Trade at Phoenix, Ariz., in 1952.

He married Lois Jean Clark on Dec. 6, 1946, in Estherville. He was a veteran of World War II, during which time he served with the U.S. Navy from 1940 to 1946. They returned to Estherville in 1967, and he has since owned and operated the Dunlavey Insurance Agency. He was a member of the Estherville Rotary and served on the Estherville Community Concert Board and the Estherville Public Library Board. He also was a member of the Estherville VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Dunlavey, Estherville; his mother, Vera Dunlavey, Jackson; and one sister, Mrs. Cleotis Omahen, El Cajon, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father, sister and brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 29, 1981)
