Death Calls N.E. Crook
Noah E. Crook, 61, well known in Estherville as a restaurant man and father of Glenn Crook, died suddenly at his home in Leland last night. Mr. Crook had suffered a slight stroke about four weeks ago from which he had seemingly recovered. He had been at his place of business at Leland as usual during the evening and retired at about eleven thirty. His wife had gone to look after their little girl and returned to find that he had passed away.

Mr. Crook was born in Des Moines and had spent most of his life in Iowa. He had been in partnership with his son here for a number of years in the management of Peoples café but bought a place of his own in Leland.

Funeral arrangements await word from relatives and the place of interment will be determined by the wishes and will doubtless be on Friday or Saturday morning. His son Glenn is home on a furlough from officers training school.

There is another son Jack living in California and daughter Ruth Mary with her mother Mrs. Betty Crook at Leland. His first wife Mrs. Eura Crook lives at Santa Barbara, Calif. One sister and 2 brothers are left to mourn his death. They are Albert Crook of Des Moines, John A. Crook of Clinton and Mrs. A.J. Waechler of Boone. Mrs. Henry Crook, a sister-in-law resides at Grinnell. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, October 22, 1922)

N.E. Crook, 60, Former Local Resident, Dies
Death Result of Heart Attack
N.E. Crook, 60, former Estherville resident and father of Glen Crook, died at 11:30 last evening of a heart attack at his home in Leland. Mr. Crook had suffered a slight stroke several weeks ago but had been able to be at his store.

Mr. Crook was born in Des Moines. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Ruth Mary, and two sons, Glen Crook of Estherville and Jack M. Crook who is on the west coast.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed pending word from relatives. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 22, 1942)

Funeral of N.E. Crook Tomorrow
Funeral services for N.E. Crook will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Mahlum and Anderson chapel with the Rev. Joseph M. Kennedy of the Presbyterian church in charge. Burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery with the Elks lodge having charge of the services at the grave. Pall bearers will be members of the Elks lodge. N.E. Crook is Laid to Rest
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mahlum and Anderson chapel for Noah E. Crook, 60, who died suddenly Wednesday night at Leland. Mr. Crook, father of Glenn Crook, was formerly associated with his son in the restaurant business in Estherville.

Rev. Jos. Kennedy of the First Presbyterian church officiated at the rites. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Maniece, Joe Timmons, Earl Kruse, Floyd Tate, Elmer Starr and Geo. Booth. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, October 29, 1942)
