Vance Crim
Estherville – Services for Vance Eugene Crim, 65, will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with military service by Estherville VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91. He died Wednesday, April 20, 1988 at his home.

Friends may call at the funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Crim was born March 28, 1923 at Estherville, the son of Willard and Esther (Barrett) Crim. He received his education in the Estherville School and graduated from Estherville High School. He served with the United States Army Field Artillery during World War Two. On Dec. 12, 1945 he was united in marriage with Jannis Menzies at Estherville. After their marriage, they lived in the Estherville area where he farmed for 10 years then worked for John Morrell and Co. as a cattle buyer for many years until retiring April 1, 1985. He was a member of the Elks Club.

Survivors include his wife, Jannis, Estherville; one son, Stephen Crim, Chicago; three daughters: Mrs. Ronald (Cathy) Olson, Estherville; Mrs. David (Becky) Ebert, Olathe, Ks. And Shelley Crim, Minneapolis; nine grandchildren and one brother Wayne Crim, Naples, Fl.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby Hoganson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 21, 1988)
