Longtime City Resident Dies at His Home
T.R. (Roy) Crawford, 64, longtime Estherville resident, died of a coronary thrombosis at 9:30 p.m. yesterday at his home. Mr. Crawford had been released from the hospital Saturday noon, after being hospitalized for 27 days.Mr. Crawford had been in poor health the past eight years with a heart condition. He had been hospitalized at four different times.
Mr. and Mrs. Crawford had returned to Estherville around Easter time after being in California since Dec. 8. While in California Mr. Crawford had undergone medical care.
Born Feb. 16, 1893 [per cemetery records 1895], at Estherville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Crawford, Roy Crawford was united in marriage to Hallie Kirk, May -, 1942.
Mr. Crawford had been a salesman for Crescent Cracker and Macaroni Company since 1929. He had been assisted in his work the last four years, prior to his retirement a year ago, by his wife.
Survivors include in addition to his widow, two brothers, Dave of Minneapolis and Carl of Albuquerque, N.M. Also surviving are four nieces. Preceding Mr. Crawford in death were his parents and one sister.
Mr. Crawford was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Elks.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon, 2 o’clock at First Presbyterian church, the Rev. Thomas g. Melton officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
