Rites To Be Monday for J.H. Cramer
John Henry (Jack) Cramer, 78, a resident of Estherville for many years, died Wednesday afternoon in San Jose, Calif. He had suffered a series of strokes starting five years ago and had been seriously ill since early November after he moved to California.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Sternborg-Reese Funeral Chapel, followed by Masonic graveside rites at the Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sternborg-Reese Funeral Home from Sunday morning until the time of services Monday.

Mr. Cramer was born April 4, 1883, at Center Point, the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Cramer. He received his education in Ellsworth, Minn., schools. He was married to Vashti Wilcox in Estherville in 1911. He came to Estherville with the Rock Island Railroad as a dispatcher at the age of 19 and retired as a dispatcher in 1955, following his wife’s death.

Mr. Cramer was a member of the North Star Lodge, AF and AM and the Elks Lodge.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Ione) Spangler of Ocheyedan, Mrs. A.J. (Marie) Van Eps of Oakland and Mrs. Robert (Jean) Ketchell of San Jose, Calif.; one son, John of Minneapolis, Minn.; ten grandchildren and one great grandson. His parents, wife, one sister and four brothers preceded him in death. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 6, 1962)
