Mrs. Coulson, 77, Dies Following Extended Illness
Mrs. George Coulson, 77, died yesterday at 3:30 p.m. in Holy Family hospital after an extended illness. A heart ailment and complications had confined her to bed for the past eight months. She had entered the hospital two weeks ago.

The Coulsons came to Estherville three years ago from Armstrong where they had lived 12 years. Mr. Coulson died three years ago.

Survivors in the immediate family include a daughter, Mrs. Charles Johnson of Estherville, and a son, Le Roy Coulson of Harris, Ia.

Funeral arrangements are not yet definite. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 21, 1946)

Funeral for Mrs. Coulson to Be Held Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs. George Coulson who died Wednesday at the Holy Family hospital will be held Sunday afternoon at 1 o’clock in the Mahlum and Sandin chapel and at 1:30 in the Methodist church, Rev. C.J. Semans officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Coulson, the former Hattie Goodge, was born Nov. 25, 1867, in Blue Earth county, Minnesota. She was married to George Coulson Dec. 25, 1881, at Sioux Rapids, where they lived for some time. From Sioux Rapids they moved to Armstrong where they lived approximately 43 years until they moved to Estherville 12 years ago.

Mrs. Coulson was preceded in death by her husband who died three years ago. Surviving are one son, LeRoy Coulson of Harris; and a daughter, Mrs. Charles Johnson of Estherville; three grandchildren, Mrs. Lester Rayne of Des Moines, Mrs. Art Guinn and Mrs. Nels Anderson, both of Armstrong. Thirteen great grand children, four great-great grand children and a brother, Fred Goodge of Dickins, also survive. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 22, 1946)
