Death of Coy Conner
Word was received Monday of the Mr. Coy Conner at Anamosa, Iowa. Tuesday morning the remains arrived at Estherville. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon in the Methodist church, Rev. Ginn preaching the sermon. The pall bearers were Messrs. J.T. Johnston, Isaac Skinner, R.R. Hudson, HC. Coon, C.C. Stover and R.E. Ridley. Interment took place in the east side [Oak Hill] cemetery.

The deceased was a former and an old time resident of Emmet county. He was at one time deputy county sheriff. He left the county a year or so ago to assume the duties of guard at the Anamosa state prison. About two weeks ago he began to feel ill and took a vacation. Death came suddenly from an apeleptic fit.

The deceased leaves a wife and two children, a mother, a sister and a younger brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 13, 1904)
