ESTHERVILLE - Mass of Christian Burial for Timothy Mann, 57, of Estherville will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville with Monsignor Michael Sernett as Celebrant. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Estherville with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91 of Estherville.
He passed away suddenly Monday, June 18, 2012, at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.
Timothy J. Mann, the son of Fay and Pauline (Keeler) Mann, was born July 25, 1954, in Estherville.
He received his education in the Estherville Schools. Following high school he went to Jackson Technical College. He then served in the United States Marines from 1972 until 1976.
On Aug. 13, 1977, he was united in marriage to Sandy Johnson. The couple made their home in Estherville. Tim was employed at Iowa Lakes Community College as a custodian until 1984. He then worked at Berkley's for many years in Spirit Lake. In 2001, he started working with the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville where he was currently the Environmental Services Maintenance/Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor. Tim enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with his family. He enjoyed family vacations to Disney World, Wisconsin Dells and Yogi Bear Park. Tim and Sandy were excited and looking forward to their vacation to Hawaii this coming September.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Left to cherish Tim's memory are his wife, Sandy; daughters, Missy Mann and Kristy Mann and her fiance, Micheal; grandchildren, Ashlynne and Aailyah; father, Fay Mann; mother-in-law, Geraldine Johnson; brothers, Fay Mann Jr. (Buzz) of Milford, Orville Mann and his wife, Connie, of Estherville, Jerry Mann of Concrete, Wash. and Perry Mann and his wife, Marcia, of Dolliver.
He has been preceded in death by his mother; brother, David Mann; sister, Nettie Mann and father-in-law, Marvin 'Bud' Johnson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 21, 2012)
