ESTHERVILLE - Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald 'Ron' Heinrichs, 76, of Estherville will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville with Monsignor Michael Sernett as Celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Vigil Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Estherville.

He died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Ronald John Heinrichs, the son of Aloysious and Clara (Bernholtz) Heinrichs, was born Jan. 4, 1936, in Spirit Lake.

He received his education in the Estherville schools. As a young man Ron worked at the DX Gas Station in Estherville. On June 16, 1956, he was united in marriage to Arlis Hansen. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Estherville and Ron was employed at Montgomery Buick in Estherville. Later he became an over-the-road truck driver and did that for 50 years until his retirement. Even after Ron retired he remained busy and farmed for three years. In his leisure time he enjoyed horseback riding and camping. Most important to Ron was spending time with his family.

Ron was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville. He was also a member of the Iowa Trucking Association where he had served as President. With his love of horses he was an active member of the Estherville Saddle Club and also the National Rifle Association.

Left to cherish Ron's memory are his wife, Arlis, of Estherville; his children, Rebecca 'Becky' Christophel and her husband, Mike; Rhonda Kunz and her husband, Al; Randall Heinrichs and his wife, Lisa; Rita Lauver and her husband, Loren; Russell Heinrichs and his wife, Karla; Richard Heinrichs and his wife, Karla; Reginald Heinrichs and his wife, Lea; Roger Heinrichs; Ronald Heinrichs and his wife, Tammy; Roberta Prechel and her husband, Ed; Robyn Heinrichs; Ryan Heinrichs and his wife, Jenny; and Robert Heinrichs and his wife, Alysa; 30 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Cleora Hanson and her husband, Merrill; Verlin 'Pete' Heinrichs and his wife, Diane, and Shirley Ott and her husband, Donald, and also many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ron in death were a son, Rocklyn Bruce; his parents; brother, Duane and sister, LuJean Fiedler and her husband, Ray. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 11, 2012)
