Estherville – Services for Mrs. John (Everene J. [Jennie]) Amundson, 87, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Norman Omodt, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1986 at Holy Family Hospital.

Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements.

Everine [Everene] J. Gustafson was born December 3, 1898 at Wenona, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Anna (Rose) Gustafson. She attended the Estherville schools. On Jan. 23, 1924 she was united in marriage with John Amundson at Estherville. The couple farmed until moving into Estherville in 1929. She was employed at Paris Cleaners and Christiansen’s Clothing as a seamstress. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church and the ALCW.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 6, 1975; her parents; two sisters and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 4, 1986)
