Mrs. Peterson Rites Monday at Graettinger
Graettinger – Mrs. Rose Peterson, 66, Graettinger, died yesterday morning, May 11, 1972, at Palo Alto County Hospital following a lingering illness.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger with the Rev. O.J. Wright officiating. Burial will be made in High Lake cemetery. Fuhrman Funearal Home, Graettinger, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Peterson was born July 8, 1906, in Whiteside County, Ill., to Robert and Grace McBride. She received her education in Jolley and Armstrong schools after their move to Iowa.
She was married to Eddie Peterson on Aug. 28, 1929, in St. James, Minn. They moved to Palo Alto County in 1938 and most of her life was spent in the Graettinger and Estherville area. Her husband died Sept. 17, 1970.
She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and A.L.C.W. and in the Service Star Legion, Riverside Club.
She has one son, Romaine, of Estherville; eight grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Cronk of Armstrong; and two brothers, Clarence McBride of Hector, Minn., and Clark McBride of Chester, Mont.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and three brothers.
Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Graettinger from 3 p.m. Sunday until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 12, 1972)
