Mrs. Lewis Peterson Dies at Age of 79
Mrs. Lewis P. (Sarah) Peterson, 79, lifetime resident of Emmet County, died this morning at 7:30 at the Good Samartian Home after a lingering illness. Mrs. Peterson had been in failing health since early this year and bedfast since July.

Born Aug. 20, 1877 she received her education in the Emmet County schools. When a young woman she was confirmed as a member of the Wallingford Lutheran church. She remained an active worker in the church WMF as long as her health permitted.

After her marriage to Lewis P. Peterson in 1900, she and her husband farmed in the Wallingford area until Mr. Peterson’s death on Sept. 5, 1940. Mrs. Peterson moved to Wallingford after her husband’s death and resided there until the last few months.

Mrs. Peterson is survived by one sister, Mrs. W.H. Peterson of Spencer and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home and at 1:30 p.m. at the Wallingford Lutheran church, the Rev. W.A. Larson officiating. Burial will be in High Lake cemetery.
