Mrs. Moses Drake Dies at Hospital
Mrs. Moses (Hallie) Drake, 68, of Estherville, died at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Hospital. Death was attributed to cancer. Mrs. Drake had been in failing health for two years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Reese Funeral Home. Rev. Howard Wakelin will officiate. Burial will be at Oakhill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. tomorrow until the time of the funeral.

Hallie Kirk was born Feb. 9, 1897, to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kirk at Mohawk, Tenn. The Kirk family moved to Monona County, Iowa, when Mrs. Drake was four years old. She was educated in Monona County schools.

In 1915, the family moved to a farm near Estherville. Since then, Mrs. Drake has resided in the Estherville area.

She was married to George Nick in 1918 at Estherville. Mr. Nick died in 1941.

She married Roy Crawford in 1942 and was widowed again in 1957.

She was married to Moses Drake in 1959 at Grants Pass, Ore.

Mrs. Drake was a member of the Christian Church of Estherville, the Rebekah Lodge, the Royal Neighbors Lodge, the World War I Veteran’s Auxiliary of Grants Pass, Ore. and the Estherville VFW auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Antha Kirk of Estherville; two brothers, James of Estherville and Hoyt of Prineville, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Aldrige of Grants Pass, Ore., and Mrs. Alma Daughenbaugh of Rapid City, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her father, two husbands, one daughter and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 5, 1965)
