Sioux City – Services for Eugene Reinhardt, 68, of Sioux City, formerly of Estherville, will be hel at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 16, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City with Rev. Randy Guerdet officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at East Side Cemetery in Estherville. He died Thursday, August 14, at a Sioux City hospital.

Visitation will be 9 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.

He was born August 26, 1928, in Dunnell, Minn., the son of Herman and Myrtle (Sharar) Rienhardt. He grew up in Dolliver on the family farm. He worked for various farmers in the Dolliver area and at Hills Packing in Estherville for several years. He has lived in Sioux City for the past 20 years.

Survivors include his mother, Myrtle of Estherville; five brothers: Robert Rienhardt and wife Bessie of Dunnell, Minn.; Herman Rienhardt, Stanley Rienhardt, and Charles Rienhardt all of Estherville; and Jerry Rienhardt and wife Marilyn of Estherville; six sisters, Pearl Smith of Cambridge, Wis.; Betty Rienhardt and Evelyn Rienhardt both of Estherville; Lois (Mrs. Ronald) Burg of Estherville; Rose (Mrs. Jerry) Hansen of Estherville; Karen (Mrs. Larry) Reitz of Bridgewater; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Herman Rienhardt. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 15, 1997)
