Ringsted – Funeral services for Andrew Olson, 87, Ringsted, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Gruver with the Rev. Dale Jensen officiating and burial at the High Lake Cemetery, Wallingford. He died June 19 at the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville. Military services will be by the Ringsted American Legion Post.
Mr. Olson was born Feb. 7, 1889 in Jack Creek Township to Andrew and Ella Nelson Olson and was educated in rural schools. He remained single and farmed in Minnesota after World War I until 1949 when he moved to Ringsted. He was semi-retired but continued to help out with farming. He had been a resident at the Good Samaritan Center for the past six years. Mr. Olson was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Gruver, a 55-year member of the Ringsted American Legion and a World War I veteran.
Survivors include one brother, Martin Oleson, Armstrong; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and four brothers.
