Estherville – Memorial services for Grace V. [Victoria] Schenck, 80, of Estherville will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7 at the First Christian Church in Estherville with the Rev. Will Reger officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. She died on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002 at the Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

There will be no visitation.

Grace was born on Nov. 22, 1921 in Estherville, the daughter of Ed and Dora (Olson) Hubbard. Grace received her education in the Estherville schools graduating from Estherville High School.

On June 2, 1940, Grace was united in marriage to Ronald “Bud” Schenck in Osage. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Estherville. She was employed many years at Sears.

In 1981, the couple moved to Apache Junction, Ariz. The couple returned to Estherville in 2000 to make their home.

Grace loved reading, crossword puzzles, cooking and camping.

Grace was a member of the First Christian Church in Estherville.

Grace is survived by her husband, Ronald “Bud” of Estherville; one daughter, Penny Miller and her husband, Alvan of Estherville; one son, Blaine Schenck and his wife, Mary of Hillsboro, Ore.; four grandchildren, Kim, Kevin, Kurt and Lisa; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Yates of Ankeny; and one sister-in-law, Inga Hubbard of Estherville.

She has been preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Kenneth and Clayton. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 5, 2002)
