Ringsted – Services for Anna Louis Neilson, 96, will be held Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ringsted with interment in High Lake Cemetery, Wallingford. Pastor Gene Hermeier will officiate the services. She died Thursday, March 20, 1997 at Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ringsted.
She was born April 9, 1901 at Gladbrook, the daughter of Henry and Christina (Westphalen) Thiel, Sr. She attended country school at Hoprig in Jack Creek Township.
In 1910 she moved with her family to a farm north of Armstrong and in 1919 to Jack Creek Twp west of Hoprig. She married Frank Neilson on Feb. 24, 1926 in Estherville and they farmed in Jack Creek Twp and the Emmetsburg area. They retired in October of 1975 and moved into Ringsted.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ringsted and the Royal Neighbors.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews and several sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank on Dec. 7, 1979; her parents; five brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 22, 1997)
