Funeral Friday For Robert Neilson, 85, Formerly of High Lake
Robert Neilson, 85, longtime resident of the High Lake area, died late Tuesday [December 15, 1959] night at Holy Family hospital, following an illness of a few weeks. He had been making his home at the Origer Rest home in Estherville.Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o’clock at the Martin Funeral home. Pallbearers will be Clifford Neilson, Clayton Neilson, Clark Neilson, Frank Neilson, George Neilson and August Neilson, all nephews of the deceased.
Friends may call at the Martin Funeral home after 3 p.m. today (Thursday).
Neilson was born in Canada, Oct. 20, 1874, the son of John and Catherine Neilson. He had farmed and lived in the High Lake area for many years. He was not married.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Joe Van Maran, of Des Moines, and numerous nieces and nephews, including George Neilson of Graettinger and Frank Neilson of Ringsted. (Graettinger Times, Graettinger, IA, December 17, 1959)
