Wallingford – Beverly June Johnson, 58, of Wallingford died Monday [April 4, 1988] at Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Ronald Barnett at Behtel Lutheran Church at Graettinger.Burial will follow at the High Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Graettinger.
Mrs. Johnson was born Feb. 15, 1930, at Boone, the daughter of Leonard and Ethel (Anderson) Wilson. She was married to Alvin T. Johnson Jan. 7, 1947, at Anoka, Minn.
After their marriage, the couple farmed in the High Lake area. She continued to live on the farm after her husband’s death, and was employed by Sperry Univac at Jackson, Minn., until the plant was closed.
Mrs. Johnson had been employed at the Forest Ridge Youth Camp until December, 1987, but left work there for health reasons. She had been a member of Bethel Lutheran Church at Graettinger, and of the Estherville VFW Auxiliary and the Military Order of Cooties.
Surviving her are two daughters: Mrs. Ray (Jean) Lehmkuhl of Estherville and Mrs. John (June) Mitchals of Wallingford; six grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters: Earl Wilson of Colo, Roy Wilson of Evandsville, Ind., Marvin Wilson of Anaheim, Calif., William (Red) Wilson of Orange, Calif., Ralph Wilson of Ringsted, Mrs. Ted (Lois) West of Isle, Minn., and Irene Jorgensen of Ringsted.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Jerry; her parents; a brother, Harry, and a sister, Grace Inis. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 6, 1988)
