Conrad Dies at Age 77
Charles Conrad, 77, of Maple Hill died at 5:45 a.m. today at the Turner Nursing Home in Armstrong from infirmities of advanced age. He had been in failing health for the past few years.Mr. Conrad was born Nov. 16, 1889, to Mr. and Mrs. John Conrad at Grand Junction. He received his education at Grand Junction and moved to Emmet County in 1919.
He was employed by Emmet County for many years and served as a county supervisor for 12 years. He moved to Maple Hill in 1939 where he lived until last week, when he moved into the Turner Nursing Home.
Mr. Conrad is survived by a brother, John, of Ankeny; and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Woods of boone and Mrs. Mayme Schultz of Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his wife [Lora House], who died in 1944.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Rev. Benjamin Coltvet officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Friday until [time] of the service. Burial will be at High Lake Cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 9, 1967)
