Wallingford – Services for Wallace William Claypool, 52, will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the United Methodist Church at Graettinger with the Rev. Julie Poore-Christensen officiating. Interment will be in High Lake Cemetery, rural Wallingford, with military graveside rites by the Graettinger American Legion Post. He died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 1988 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Graettinger from 3-9 p.m. Thursday.

He was born July 11, 1936 at LeMars, the son of Clarence and Bernice (Adams) Claypool and attended Sheffield School, also Estherville Junior College. On June 27, 1959 he was united in marriage with Sharon Lammers at Graettinger. He served in the Air Force from 1955-1957. For the past 20 years has been employed by Iowa Electric & Power at DeWitt, Iowa Falls, and Alden. From March 1981 until his death he had worked at the Dwayne Arnold Energy Center at Palo. They moved to a home on High Lake on Monday. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon, Wallingford; two sons: William, Ft. Dodge and Ernest, Estherville; one granddaughter; a brother Lloyd, Waterloo and sister Mrs. Les (ina) Schultz, Laurens.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 22, 1988)
