Mrs. Wedoo Dies at 70
Mrs. Roy (Hazel) Wedoo, 70, died yesterday at 7:25 p.m. at Holy Family Hospital. Mrs. Wedoo was taken to the hospital about 10 days after suffering a heart spell. Her death was attributed to a sudden heart attack last night at the hospital.

Mrs. Wedoo has lived in Estherville for the past 12 years where she had lived with and cared for her aged mother, Mrs. Charles Christian.

Hazel Annette Christian was born May 10, 1895, in Palo Alto County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Christian. While a young girl, she moved with her parents and family to Emmet County and received her education there.

After her marriage to Roy Wedoo of Emmet County, the couple farmed in Jack Creek Township until they moved to Mason City where Mr. Wedoo was employed by the Decker Meat Co. He died in 1938 [1937]

Following her husband’s death Mrs. Wedoo and children moved to Fairmont where she lived until coming to Estherville.

She is survived by one son, Robert of Fairmont; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Viola) Sukalski and Mrs. Marvin (Betty) Malo of Fairmont; six grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Charles Christian of Estherville; four brothers, Gilbert Christian of Mason City, Carl of Denver, Colo., Milford of Ringsted, and Edward of Tracy, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Ann) Bringle of Fairmont and Mrs. Agnes Engholm of Bancroft.

Mrs. Wedoo was preceded in death by her husband, her father, a sister, Mrs. Harry (Tomena) Weber, and a brother, Melvin.

Funeral services are pending of Fuhrman Funeral Home. Burial is to be in the Wallingford Lutheran cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 24, 1965)
