Estherville – Funeral services for Mrs. Tena Twito, 82, Estherville, are pending at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. She died at Holy Family Hospital Sunday [November 9, 1975] night. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 10, 1975)

Wallingford – Funeral services for Mrs. Tena Twito, 80, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wesley Brodin officiating and burial at the Wallingford Cemetery. She died Sunday at Holy Family Hospital.

Mrs. Twito was born April 30, 1895 near Wallingford to Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Nelson and was educated in Wallingford schools. On April 26, 1922 she was married to Bert Twito at the home of her parents near Wallingford. After her husband’s death on Aug. 12, 1967, Mrs. Twito moved to Estherville. She was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church and its women’s auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son, Merlin, of Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Francis (LaVonne) Van DeWalle, Estherville; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Archer (Julia) Myhre, Estherville; Mrs. Blanche Larson, Estherville; and Mrs. Harry (Sylvia) Balmer, Armstrong; and one brother, Helmer Nelson, Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandchild, her parents and one brother.
