Mrs. Carl Thorson [Thoreson] Dies Here at 84
Mrs. Carl (Kate) Thorson, 84, longtime Emmet County resident, died last night about 8:30 o’clock at the Good Samaritan Home.

The former Kate Harrison was born June 6, 1881, in Armstrong Grove Township.

After her marriage to Carl Thorson, the couple farmed for many years in the Wallingford and Graettinger areas. After retirement they moved to Wallingford to make their home. Mr. Thorson died in 1960. The couple had one son who died in infancy.

Mrs. Thorson was a member of the Graettinger Methodist Church and the women’s church organization, WSCS.

She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Ted Thomas of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mrs. Floyd Johnson of Cody, Wyo.; also two cousins, Mrs. Amy Harrison and Mrs. Lorenzo Helgason, both of Armstrong.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thorson are to be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Graettinger Methodist Church, Rev. Ronald Swedburg officiating. Burial is to be in Riverside, Wallingford.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Graettinger after 3 p.m. Friday until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 14, 1965)
