Kennerd Syverson
Estherville – Services for Kennerd S. Syverson, 67, rural Estherville, will be held Wednesday at 2 pm. in the Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be observed by the Wallingford American Legion. He died Monday, Nov. 19, 1984 at his home.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville after 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Syverson was born Sept. 25, 1917 at Estherville, the son of Severt and Anna (Sandven) Syverson. He attended the Wallingford School. He lived and farmed all his life in Emmet County except for four years while in the service during World War Two. He retired in 1974 but continued to help his nephew Duane Syverson with the farming. He remained single.

Syverson was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church, Wallingford American Legion and Estherville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

Survivors include his brother Norman T. Syverson, Dunnell, Minn.; his sister Selma Syverson, Estherville; five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 20, 1984)
