Mrs. Thomas Starhow [Storhow], 91, Dies at Daughter’s Home
Mrs. Thomas Storhow, 91, former longtime and well known Estherville resident, died today at 12:10 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H.M. Larsen, La Grange, Ill. Mrs. Storhow had been in failing health for several weeks with immediate cause of death given as complications due to advanced age.Mrs. Storhow is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Larsen, La Grange, Ill., who, with Mr. Larsen, is bringing her mother to Estherville for burial beside that of Mr. Storhow who died in January, 1956. The Storhows moved from Estherville in 1949.
The body is scheduled to arrive in Emmetsburg Saturday morning and funeral services are scheduled for that afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Estherville Lutheran Church, the Rev. Theodore W. Maakestad officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at the Wallingford Lutheran cemetery.

Storhow Rites Tomorrow
Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas Storhow, 91, former longtime Estherville resident who died yesterday at the home of her daughter in La Grange, Ill., will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Estherville Lutheran church, the Rev. T.W. Maakestad officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery at Wallingford. The body will lie in state at the Estherville Lutheran Church from noon tomorrow until time of services. Mrs. Thomas Storhow, nee Dorothy Marie Myhre, the daughter of Ivor and Anne Myhre, was born Dec. 1, 1866 in High Lake township on the farm her parents had homesteaded after her father returned from the Civil War. She died Dec. 26, 1957, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H.M. Larsen of La Grange Park, Ill., at the age of 91.On Dec. 19, 1891, she was united in marriage to Thomas Storhow of Estherville. They made their home in this city until the death of her father in 1907 when they moved to the home farm where they lived until 1916.
At this time they bought a farm near Four Mile Lake and lived there until their retirement in 1930 when they moved to Estherville, building a house at 1115 N. 5th St. They lived there until eight and a half years ago when they moved to La Grange to make their home with their daughter.
Mrs. Storhow was preceded in death by her husband who died Jan 11, 1955, [per cemetery records, 1956] at the age of 95.
She is survived by her only daughter, Mrs. H.M. (Ada) Storhow Larsen of La Grange Park; three grandchildren, Mrs. Dorothy Larsen Rusley of Ellendale, N.D., Kenneth Larsen of Rolla, Mo., and Dr. J. Stanley Larsen, now an officer in the U.S. Air Corp stationed at Evreux, France; and four great-grandchildren, Jean, Mark and Erik Rusley and David Larsen. Also surviving are two brothers.
