Mrs. John Waldron Dies at Age of 81
Mrs. John (Bridget Frances) Waldron, 81, resident of Estherville for the past 54 years, died Saturday [July 25, 1959] at 1:15 p.m. at her home after a lingering illness.

Bridget Conlon was born April 1, 1878 in Palo Alto County at the farm home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Conlon. She received her education and grew to young womanhood in that vicinity.

She was married Oct. 18, 1898 to John Joseph Waldron at Emmetsburg and after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Waldron established their home in Minneapolis. They lived there for a few years and then returned to their area, living near Terril until 1905 when they moved to Estherville, continuing to live here since that date.

Mr. Waldron died in 1949, a year after he and Mrs. Waldron had observed their golden wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Waldron was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by three sons, John and Robert, both of Los Angeles, Cal., and Leonard of Estherville; two daughters, Mrs. Edgar (Mary) Center of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Edgar (Margaret) Price of Charles City; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, one daughter, her parents, four sisters and three brothers.

A family Rosary will be recited tonight at 8 o’clock at the Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home and Tuesday night at 8 a second Rosary will be recited. Funeral services are to be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Rev. James H. Duhigg officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s cemetery. Friends may call at Sandin-Fuhrman’s from this evening until time of services.

Pallbearers are to be Jack Waldron, Jim Waldron, Galen Origer, Maurice Origer, Robert Waldron and Melvin Conlon. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 27, 1959)
