Owen Ordean Refsell was born Oct. 3, 1927, baptized the following month in the Wallingford Lutheran church by Rev. T. Hansen. This fall little Owen was taken sick and the parents doctored him at the hospital in Estherville and seemingly he became well, but the sickness reappeared and little Owen was called by the Savior to his heavenly home the 10th day of November, 1928. Those to mourn the loss of a dear son and brother are Mr. and Mrs. Martin Refsell and sister Esther Clarice. One sister and one brother died also in infancy and passed to the beyond before him, namely Dorothy Mae and Lawrence Eugene. Funeral services were held both from the Refsell home and the Lutheran church Monday, Nov. 12. Chas. Anderson, funeral director and Rev. T.H. Hansen, the former pastor who married Mr. and Mrs. Refsell and baptized little Owen, conducted the funeral services. The pall bearers were Earnest Skattebo, Orville Rustad, Leonard Hanson and Stanley Young.

The Pastor tried in the funeral sermon especially to comfort the parents with the words from the Savior: “Let the Little Ones come Unto Me and hinder them not, for the Kingdom of Heaven Belongeth to Such.” Little Owen has changed dwelling places, from an Earthly home to the Glorious Home of Heaven. There Jesus takes care of him in a better way than any earthly father or mother could, even with their most tender and loving care. May the Heavenly Savior console and sooth the sorrowing hearts. Then one day Jesus will present him in the life hereafter to the parents again. More glorious and sweeter than ever here on earth. The parents have the sympathy of the community and the congregation in their bereavement and may God bless them as only he can do. – T. Infant Son of Martin Refsell Taken by Death
Owen Refsell, one-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Refsell of Wallingford, died Saturday following an illness for which he received treatment a short time ago in an Estherville hospital.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Refsell home and at the Wallingford Lutheran church. The pall bearers were four young boys, Earnest Skattebo, Orville Rustad, Leonard Hanson, and Stanley Young.

Those who mourn his loss are his parents and sister, Esther Clarice. A sister, Dorothy Mae , and brother, Lawrence Eugene, also died in infancy.
