Wallingford – Services for Mable Sofia Refsell, 89, Wallingford will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the Wallingford Lutheran Church, with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. She died Tuesday, March 11, 1986 at the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, 103 North Ninth Street, Estherville.

She was born Sept. 1, 1896 in High Lake Township of Emmet County to Ingvall and Bertha (Nestegaard) Refsell, and received her education in rural Emmet County schools. She was employed by Iowa State University in Ames for 30 years, retiring in 196. She then lived in Wallingford until 1974 when she moved to the Good Samaritan Center. She was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Bettea Lundy, Wallingford, Mrs. Jacob (Alice) Amdahl, Estherville; four nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one niece. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 13, 1986)
