Death of Mrs. Osher
Died at her home in Wallingford, Emmet county, on Saturday evening of neuralgia of the heart at the age of about 80 years Mrs. Inglebore [Ingeborg] Osher. Deceased was born in Norway, November [13], 1816. Her maiden name was Waldheim. When about 18 years old she was married to Nels O. Osher. They came to this country in the early fifties and moved to Dane county, Wis., and had a touch of pioneer life. They moved to Emmet county in 1870 and have resided there ever since. It was before railroads were built here and they hauled the lumber for their house from Mankato, Minn. Nine children, six boys and three girls were born to them of which all are living but the oldest boy and girl. The funeral occurred Wednesday, Rev. Hanson, of Heron Lake, officiating. They lived together for over 60 years in married life and Mrs. Osher was a faithful member of the Norwegian Augustanna church about fifty years. Thus ends a long life of usefulness and devotion to her family and church. Those left behind mourn a loss which cannot be made good in this life. – Graettinger Times (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, March 3, 1897)
