Many Claimed by Death During Past Few Days
Pneumonia is Cause in Most of These Fatalities Among Aged and Children
Many home in this community have been left disconsolate during the past week because of the death of beloved ones. Pneumonia following an attack of flu has been the cause of several of these deaths. Most of the victims are among the aged or very young. O. J. Hamilton and Peters Jensen answered the final summons on Christmas day, Mrs. Annie Iverson of Wallingford on Sunday and Bernice [Berneice] Osher of that place on Monday, a young boy from Ledyard died at a local hospital, Wednesday morning, and little Mary Sewell died at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sewell, Thursday morning.

Bernice Genevieve Osher, 12 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Osher, died at her home in Wallingford, Monday, Dec. 24, of pneumonia. Funeral services are being held Friday afternoon, with burial in the Bruejeld cemetery near Wallingford. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 26, 1928)
