Mrs. Fred Masters [Master] Dead
Mrs. Fred Masters died at her home east of Wallingford last Thursday afternoon. Short services were held at the house where J.M. Wolden made a few touching remarks and paid a high tribute to the young lady who had spent her childhood days in this community and who had a host of friends who mourn her untimely death. From the house a very large procession of friends and relatives followed the departed to the Norwegian church near Wallingford, where Rev. Sande conducted the services. The remains were laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery by the church. The attendance at the church was very large and the floral offerings were many and very beautiful.

Mrs. Marie Masters was born twenty-six years ago in Jack Creek township. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N.L. Nelson, seven brothers, three sisters and her husband are left to mourn her death. Three years ago she was married to Fred Masters and two children were born to them who now are left without the loving and guiding hand of a kind mother.

Mrs. Masters had been ailing for some time and had consulted different medical practitioners but still her life gradually ebbed away until death came last Thursday afternoon at about 5 o’clock.

The entire family has the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, March 31, 1909)
