The funeral of Mrs. Martin Myhre [Mathilda Skor Myhre] was held Wednesday at one o’clock at the house and at one thirty at the Norwegian Lutheran church. Burial took place in the cemetery east of Wallingford. Rev. Mandsager officiated at the funeral assisted by Rev. Sande of Fenton, a former pastor. Music was furnished by the young people’s choir. The honorary pall bearers were Mrs. Naae, Mrs. L. Torreson, Mrs. Ole Wicks, Mrs. Lewis Sanvig, Mrs. S.E. Sanvig and Mrs. Raleigh. Eight of the campfire girls served as flower girls. Tey were Vivian Sullivan, Marion George, Verna Grodland, Irene Westergard, Mary McManus, Helen Reidy, Loretta Swift, and Vivian Norris. The pall bearers were C.A. Jensen, Chris Jensen, A.J. Johnson, E.A. Baumgartner, Charley Jensen and Frank Schurman.
Mrs. Myhre was born at Algona March 1, 1873, and died at the Lutheran hospital at Des Moines Sunday November 10, 1929. She was married to Martin Myhre June 28, 1899, and came a once to Graettinger where they have always made their home. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, one son, Arthur of Brookfield, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Merle Kedder of Towner, N. Dak., and Dorothy and Serene, who are at home. Thus another good Christian wife and mother has answered the call of the Heavenly Father to come home. Mrs. Myhre was always a thoughtful, kind neighbor, ever ready to help in anything that was for the betterment of the community.
