Mrs. Misener Dies
Mrs. Katie Misener died at 12:30 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Wee, after being bedfast for one and a half years due to arthritis. Katie Anderson was born Sept. 10, 1847, at Jessup. She was married to George Misener in 18—at Estherville. She has made her home with Mrs. John Wee since the death of her father, James Anderson in 1932. Date of the funeral services and other details will be published in tomorrow’s paper. Rites for Mrs. Misener Wednesday
Mrs. Katie Misener, 80, died at 12:30 p.m. yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Wee of Estherville. She had been bedfast for the past 18 months due to arthritis.

Katie Misener was born at Jessup on Sept. 10, 1874. She came to Wallingford with her parents, James and Mary Anderson, in her early childhood and has resided in Emmet county since that time.

She was united in marriage to George Misener, a B.C.R. & N. conductor, by the Reverend W. M. Evans, former pastor of the Presbyterian church at her parents’ home in Wallingford on Dec. 31, 1895. To this union three children were born – one who died in infancy, Mrs. John Wee of Estherville and the late Merle G. Misener of Columbus, Ohio.

Survivors are her daughter, Mrs. John (Ethel) Wee of Estherville; five grandchildren, Gerald Wee of Wallingford, Merlyn and Sheryl Ann Wee and Mrs. John (Vernice) Challberg of Estherville and Robert Wee of Chicago. There are also 12 great grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1901, in a railroad accident at Ocheyedan. Her parents, sister and two brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Misener was the telephone operator at Wallingford for 22 years and is well known in that community. She has made her home with her daughter since 19-4. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Estherville.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Sternborg Funeral home and 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church with the Rev. Thomas G. M—officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside cemetery east of Wallingford. Pallbearers are James Kasa, Charles Jackson, Johnnie Johnson, Albert Christopher, Oscar Peterson and Selmer Dybdahl, all of Walligford.

Friends who desire to pay their respects may do so at the Sternborg Funeral home this evening and up to 1:30 p.m. tomorrow. The casket will not be opened at the church services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 23, 1954)
