After an illness extending over a period of two years, Mrs. M.T. Lillehaugen passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.O. Sando of Wallingford, at 9:30 o’clock on Tuesday [July 7, 1914]. Mrs. Lillihaugen was stricken some two years ago with that most dreaded disease tuberculosis while at her home near Michigan, N. Dak. A short time after, she was brought to the home of her parents, where she could receive rest and quiet and every care and medical aid was given her, but to no avail. Early assistance stood for naught against the ravages of the disease. After a long and bitter fight to maintain life Mrs. Lillehaugen died, retaining consciousness until the last.

Mrs. Lillehaugen was born in this county on April 15, 1884, in the same home in which she passed from this earth. Seven years ago she was united in marriage to M.T. Lillehaugen, and to this union there were three children born, who together with a loving husband remain to mourn the loss of a loving mother and wife.

The remains will be laid to rest in the Wallingford cemetery on next Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, July 8, 1914)
