Monroe, Ohio – Services for Blanche T. Larson, 94, of Monroe, Ohio, will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Arlyn Norris officiating. Interment will be in Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. She died July 24, 1996 at Barbara Parke Care Center in Middletown, Ohio.

Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Thursday until time of service at Estherville Lutheran Church. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Estherville is in charge of arrangements.

She was born April 27, 1902 at Wallingford, the daughter of Louie and Tilda (Bendixon) Nelson and attended country school in the Wallingford area, later attended Waldorf College at Forest City where she received her normal training. She taught school in rural schools before her marriage on Sept. 19, 1923 to Curtis Larson at the Wallingford Lutheran Church. After marriage, the couple owned and operated Larson’s Cash Store in Maple Hill until 1959. She sold the store and moved to Estherville. In 1993 she moved to Monroe to live with her daughter.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Virgil (Elaine) Westercamp of Monroe; granddaughter Mrs. Tom (Barbara) Stumpf, Lima, Ohio; great-grandson Andrew Stumpf, Lima; one sister, Sylvia Balmer, Edina, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband March 9, 1959; one son, a granddaughter and her parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 31, 1996)
