Wallingford – Funeral services for Nina C. Jorstad, 93, of Wallingford will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Wallingford Lutheran Church in Wallingford with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Interment will be held at the Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery in Wallingford. She died on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003 at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

Nina was born on Dec. 8, 1909 in Pleasant Valley, Wis., the daughter of Bearnt and Isabelle (Osher) Jorstad, Nina received her education in the River Falls schools in Wisconsin. Following high school she attended River Falls Teachers College and later received her Master’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin.

Nina taught school for many years in the Iowa and Wisconsin schools. She then moved to California where she was a supervisor for teachers for twenty-five years. In 1971, she retired and moved back to Wallingford. For hobbies Nina enjoyed her many travels and reading.

Nina was a member of Wallingford Lutheran Church where she was active in the church circle and the Sons of Norway.

Nina is survived by her sister, Helen Nielsen of Wallingford; and many nieces and nephews.

She has been preceded in death by her parents, one infant sister, Clara Jorstad; five sisters, Mabel Jorstad; Elsie Gunderson; Mildred Refsell; Eva Clausen; Stella Owens; and two brothers, Burt and Otis.
