Jurries Girls’ Rites Saturday
Will Be Held In Wallingford
Funeral services for Luella Jurries, 10, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jurries, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the East Riverside church at Wallingford. The Rev. Peder Nordsletten will be in charge of this service and short rites at 1 p.m. at the house.

Luella Jurries died yesterday morning at her home near Wallingford after she had been taken there Sunday from a local hospital where she had been receiving medical treatment for three weeks. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 9, 1933)

Luella Jurries, 10, Ill Several Weeks of Carcinoma
Luella Jurries, 10 years old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jurries of the Wallingford community passed away at her home Wednesday morning at six thirty. The child had been ill for several weeks of carcinoma. She had been cared for at a local hospital for some time but was taken to her home Sunday.

Luella was born May 23, 1923, [1924 per birth records and gravestone] at Huntington. She was one of a large family of children. Four sisters and five brothers survive. They are Mrs. Virgil Fry, Bernice, Dorothy, Florence and Floyd, Lester, Wilbur, Melvin and Charles. Another sister Lucille preceded Luella in death.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at one o’clock from the home and at one thirty from the East Riverside Lutheran church with Rev. Peder Nordsletten in charge. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, November 9, 1933)
