Wallingford – Funeral services for Donna Quastad Herum, 77, of Wallingford will be held on Monday, Feb. 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Keith Lingwall and Intern Pastor Rusty Bailey officiating. Interment will be held at Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery in Wallingford. She died on Thursday, Feb. 5 at Rosewood Manor.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 8 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

Donna Jean Quastad, the daughter of John and Belle (Hanson) Quastad, was born March 5, 1926 in Gruver.

She received her education in the Emmet County Schools graduating from Maple Hill High School. Donna then received her teacher’s certificate from Mankato State University. She taught school for fourteen years in Petersburg, Minn.; St. Louis Park, Minn. and Fort Dodge.

On June 11, 1960, she was united in marriage to Ron Herum at Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Gruver. After their marriage, the couple lived in Wallingford for seventeen years and have lived in Estherville the past twenty-seven years.

Donna was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church and the Priscilla Circle. She enjoyed playing the piano; walking; making banners for church; reading to people at Good Samaritan; sewing; raising African violets; traveling; and attending children’s activities.

Left to cherish Donna’s memories are her husband, Ronald of Estherville; her children, Lynn Feddersen and her husband, Dennis of Estherville; Jon Herum of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; Judi Blegen and her husband, Eric of Mahtomedi, Minn.; six grandchildren, Chris; Missy; Thomas; Andrew; Matthew; Jack; three great –grandchildren, Tyler; Brennan; Carson; brother, Donald Quastad and his wife, Kathy of Estherville; three sisters, Joan O’Brien and her husband, Gene of Denver, Colo.; Marlys Landmesser and her husband, Dave of Fonatana, Calif.; Janet Doolen and her husband, Larry of Aurora, Colo.; and also by many nieces and nephews.

Donna has been preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jacque; brother, Omer; two brothers-in-law, Phil and Dick Herum; sisters-in-law, Effie Herum; and two nephews, Gregory Herum; Marcus Landmesser and her parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 7, 2004)
