Mrs. Myhre came to this country with her husband in the year of 1870 [?] and has lived on the same farm continuously since coming here. She has lived with her daughter, Mrs. Sevat Sevatson, for the past sixteen years. Mr. and Mrs. Myhre were united in marriage at Stephens Point, Wisconsin, in the year 1857, and there were born to them four children, two of whom are still living, Mrs. Sevat Sevatson of Wallingford and Mrs. I.L. Bratager of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.Mrs. Myhre was not only one of the old pioneers of this county but was one of the oldest women in the county, having reached the extreme age of ninety-two at the time of her death. Mrs. Myhre has always been an exceptional good neighbor and was loved by all her neighbors, and by the many friends she has gained in her long residence in this county.
The funeral services were held at the home, Rev. Paulsrud officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Wallingford cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, November 5, 1913)
