Graettinger – Services for Mrs. Ernest E. (Minnie Iva) Dobbins, 88, will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Graettinger with the Rev. Ronald R.P. Myers, officiating. Interment will be in the Wallingford Cemetery. She died Tuesday, April 16, 1985 at the Emmetsburg Care Center.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Graettinger after 3 p.m. Thursday.

Minnie Iva Needham was born July 3, 1896 in Dallas County, Iowa the daughter of Daniel and Alice Mae (Dickerson) Needham. She attended the Ayrshire and Dallas County schools graduating from Ayrshire High School. On June 8, 1918, she was united in marriage with Ernest A. Dobbins at Ayrshire. Following their marriage they farmed in Palo Alto County, retiring in 1962 and moved into Wallingford. Mr. Dobbins died in 1971 and she has lived in Graettinger since 1973. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Survivors include three sons, Harry, Graettinger; Donald, Spencer and Kenneth, Moorehead, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. Harvey (Lorraine) Bailey, Hollister, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one brother Laverne Needham, Placerville, Calif. and one sister, Lela Peterson, Ayrshire.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Esther Anderson; parents; two sisters and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 18, 1985)
