Gruver Woman Dies; Services on Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph (Tillie Josephine) Brown, 70, rural Gruver, will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Gruver.Rev. Morris E. Ulring will conduct the service, and burial will be a Riverside Cemetery, Wallingford. Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home all day today and up until 10 a.m. Wednesday, when the body will be taken to the church.
Mrs. Brown died 10:20 a.m. Monday [June 2, 1969] at the Holy Family Hospital as a result of a blood clot. She was hospitalized on Sunday.
She was born May 31, 1899, at Thor to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Williams.
She married Joseph M. Brown at Wallingford on Jan. 24, 1923, and lived most of her life in rural Emmet County. They have lived the last several years on a farm south of Gruver.
She was a lifetime active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Gruver.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph, three sons, Dr. Robert J. Brown, Macon, Ga., Rev. Harold R. Brown, Chicago, and Wayne E. Brown, South St. Paul; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne C. (Marlys) Dotzenrod, Warner Robins, Ga.; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Gunder Paulson, Armstrong; and three brothers, Bernard Williams, Fairmont, Leonard Williams, Armstrong, and Orville Williams, Gruver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one brother.
Pallbearers are Allen, Bob, and James Brown, Marlin and Richard Paulson, and Jerry Williams.
Honorary pallbearers are Arnold Hoganson, Rudolph Christensen, Lawrence Hansen, Harold Howard, O. Harold Johnson, and Lewis Aanonson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 3, 1969)
