Armstrong – Services for Lloyd G. Anderson, 62, of Armstrong and formerly of Estherville will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville with interment in Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. He died Tuesday, May 26, 1998, at his home – at Intowner Trailer Park at Armstrong.Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral home in Estherville. A brief worship and time sharing will be held for the family and friends at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born June 7, 1935, in Estherville, the son of Chester and Gunvor (Ness) Anderson. He attended rural Emmet County schools and completed his education in the Estherville schools. On Oct. 1, 1952, he married Maribelle Wolden at Wallingford. He worked at Estherville Creamery and John Morrell and Co. He owned and operated the Superior Café from 1980-83. He moved to Marshalltown in 1983 and managed Travel Lodge Motel and later was a security guard for Pinkerton in 1993. He moved to Armstrong where he was a guard at Arts-Way Mfg. Co. and was manager of the VFW Post at the time of his death. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville and the VFW Post in Armstrong.
Survivors are: daughters, Mrs. Bill (Joyce) Graettinger of Estherville; Mrs. Jim (Kathy) Miller, Sheffield; son, Mark of Marshalltown, grandchildren, Sara Peters, Shelbie and Jamie Anderson, Cory and Stacey Ellis, Dusty and Brittany Miller; a sister Marlys Bryant, Estherville.
