Christy Anderson Dies at 72
Christy Anderson, 72, manager of the Wallingford gun club for more than 30 years, died 5 p.m. Saturday [February 18, 1950] at Holy Family hospital. He had been hospitalized for about two and one-half weeks and had been ill for quite some time.

He was born in Cedar Falls, and moved to Wallingford with his parents while still a small boy. His father was a section foreman stationed at Wallingford while the railroad there was still the B.C.R. and N., before it was taken over by the Rock Island.

For the past many years he had lived in a cottage on Mud Lake at the new club site. He was well known to outdoor sportsman all over Iowa. He was a trapshooter of note and had won many medals in state and national competition.

Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Katie Minenor [Misener], who makes her home with a daughter, Mrs. John Wee, in Estherville; a brother, Charlie, whose whereabouts is unknown, and a niece, Mrs. John Wee at Estherville. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sternborg funeral chapel and at 2 p.m. at Estherville Presbyterian church, the Rev. Frielie E. Conway officiating. Burial will be at Wallingford. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 20, 1950)
